The Women’s Health Research Institute at Northwestern University focuses specifically on advancing research outcomes that improve all aspects of women's health and wellbeing. The Institute transforms the way research is conducted on the wider range of health issues women face throughout their lives by advocating and supporting sex/gender-differentiated methodology. The Division of Immunotherapy is laboratory and clinic based, utilizing methods that allow the safe isolation, manipulation and preservation of population of stem cells and immune cells for therapeutic purposes.
Currently DIAD collaborates with the Divisions of Rheumatology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology and Hematology/Oncology, and the Departments of Neurology and Transplant Surgery in innovation approaches and active protocols for the treatment of severe lupus, amyloidosis, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and post transplant Lymphoproliferative disorders and cancers.

Northwestern Medicine geneticists provide individualized cancer risk assessment and health management recommendations to individuals and families at increased risk for cancer due to their personal and/or family history of cancer.
The Department of Neurology provides treatment for a full range of neurological disorders. Our physicians are faculty members of Northwestern University Medical School who provide care for patients and conduct clinical research as well. The clinical mission of the Department is to provide the highest quality care and treatment for patients with neurological disorders, while advancing new therapies and uncovering the causes and cures of neurological diseases. The Women's Neurology Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital is one of only a small number of women-focused neurology centers across the country. It was formed by a team of Northwestern Medicine neurologists in 2012 to better serve female patients at all stages of life, including pregnancy and menopause, and to advance research in neurological conditions facing women.
The Division of Rheumatology is staffed by rheumatology and internal medicine specialists who use a multidisciplinary team approach in diagnosing and treating arthritic, rheumatic and autoimmune disorders. A wide array of treatment options is offered in conjunction with appropriate experts in orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation.
These same rheumatology specialists offer both consultation and long-term patient care in a university setting that features basic and clinical research and education.
The Division of Endocrinology/Metabolism provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of cancers and diseases of the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. Specialized services are provided for diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, thyroid cancer, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), and osteoporosis.
